Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.

ܡܫܒܚ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܕܒܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܡܥܗܕ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܫܠܡܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
mshbkh 'n' lkwn dyn 'khy dbkl mdm mehd 'nthwn ly w'ykn' d'shlmth lkwn pwqdn' 'khydyn 'nthwn
Now I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and hold firm the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.

ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܟܠ ܓܒܪ ܪܫܗ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܘ ܘܪܫܗ ܕܐܢܬܬܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܘܪܫܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ
tsb' 'n' dyn dthdewn dkl gbr rshh mshykh' hw wrshh d'nthth' gbr' hw wrshh dmshykh' 'lh' hw
But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

ܟܠ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܡܨܠܐ ܐܘ ܡܬܢܒܐ ܟܕ ܡܟܣܝ ܪܫܗ ܡܒܗܬ ܪܫܗ
kl gbr' dmtsl' 'w mthnb' kd mksy rshh mbhth rshh
Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.

ܘܟܠ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܡܨܠܝܐ ܐܘ ܡܬܢܒܝܐ ܟܕ ܓܠܐ ܪܫܗ ܡܒܗܬܐ ܪܫܗ ܫܘܝܐ ܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܥܡ ܗܝ ܕܓܪܝܥ ܪܫܗ
wkl 'nthth' dmtsly' 'w mthnby' kd gl' rshh mbhth' rshh shwy' hy gyr em hy dgrye rshh
But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered dishonors her head. For it is one and the same thing as if she were shaved.

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܠܐ ܡܬܟܣܝܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܦ ܬܣܬܦܪ ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܫܟܪ ܗܘ ܠܐܢܬܬܐ ܠܡܣܬܦܪܘ ܐܘ ܠܡܓܪܥ ܬܬܟܣܐ
'n gyr l' mthksy' 'nthth' 'p thsthpr 'n dyn mshkr hw l'nthth' lmsthprw 'w lmgre ththks'
For if a woman is not covered, let her hair also be cut off. But if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut off or be shaved, let her be covered.

ܓܒܪܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܐ ܚܝܒ ܕܢܟܣܐ ܪܫܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܡܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܘܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܓܒܪܐ
gbr' gyr l' khyb dnks' rshh mTl ddmwth' hw wthshbwkhth' d'lh' 'nthth' dyn thshbwkhth' hy dgbr'
For a man indeed ought not to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܓܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܢ ܓܒܪܐ

For man is not from woman, but woman from man;

ܘܐܦܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܓܒܪܐ ܐܬܒܪܝ ܡܛܠ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܓܒܪܐ

for man wasn’t created for the woman, but woman for the man.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܚܝܒܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܪܫܗ ܡܛܠ ܡܠܐܟܐ
mTl hn' khyb' 'nthth' dshwlTn' nhw' el rshh mTl ml'k'
For this cause the woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels.

ܒܪܡ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܒܡܪܢ
brm dyn l' gbr' lbr mn 'nthth' 'pl' 'nthth' lbr mn gbr' bmrn
Nevertheless, neither is the woman independent of the man, nor the man independent of the woman, in the Lord.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܓܒܪܐ ܒܝܕ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܟܠܡܕܡ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ
'ykn' gyr d'nthth' mn gbr' hkn' 'p gbr' byd 'nthth' klmdm dyn mn 'lh' hw
For as woman came from man, so a man also comes through a woman; but all things are from God.

ܕܘܢܘ ܒܝܢܝܟܘܢ ܠܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܝܐܐ ܠܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܟܕ ܓܠܐ ܪܫܗ ܬܨܠܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ
dwnw bynykwn lnpshkwn y'' l'nthth' dkd gl' rshh thtsl' l'lh'
Judge for yourselves. Is it appropriate that a woman pray to God unveiled?

ܐܦܠܐ ܗܘ ܟܝܢܐ ܡܠܦ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܡܐ ܕܩܐܡ ܣܥܪܗ ܨܥܪܐ ܗܘ ܠܗ
'pl' hw kyn' mlp lkwn dgbr' m' dq'm serh tser' hw lh
Doesn’t even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?

ܘܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܐ ܕܡܪܒܝ ܣܥܪܗ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܗܝ ܠܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܣܥܪܗ ܚܠܦ ܬܟܣܝܬܐ ܗܘ ܐܬܝܗܒ ܠܗ
w'nthth' m' dmrby serh thshbwkhth' hy lh mTl dserh khlp thksyth' hw 'thyhb lh
But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering.

ܐܢ ܐܢܫ ܕܝܢ ܡܬܚܪܐ ܥܠ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܢ ܠܝܬ ܥܝܕܐ ܐܝܟ ܗܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܠܥܕܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
'n 'nsh dyn mthkhr' el hlyn ln lyth eyd' 'yk hn' wl' ledthh d'lh'
But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do God’s assemblies.

ܗܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܡܦܩܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܒܚ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܐܬܝܬܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܠܒܨܝܪܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܢܚܬܬܘܢ
hd' dyn dmpqd 'n' l' 'yk mshbkh 'n' lkwn mTl dl' hw' lqdmykwn 'thythwn 'l' lbtsyrwth' hw nkhththwn
But in giving you this command, I don’t praise you, that you come together not for the better but for the worse.

ܠܘܩܕܡ ܓܝܪ ܡܐ ܕܡܬܟܢܫܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܥܕܬܐ ܦܠܓܘܬܐ ܫܡܥ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܝܢܬܟܘܢ ܘܡܕܡ ܡܕܡ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܐܢܐ
lwqdm gyr m' dmthknshyn 'nthwn bedth' plgwth' shme 'n' d'yth bynthkwn wmdm mdm mhymn 'n'
For first of all, when you come together in the assembly, I hear that divisions exist among you, and I partly believe it.

ܥܬܝܕܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܦ ܚܪܝܢܐ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܒܝܢܬܟܘܢ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܩܝܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܢܬܝܕܥܘܢ
ethydyn 'nwn gyr 'p khryn' dnhwwn bynthkwn d'ylyn dbqyn bkwn nthydewn
For there also must be factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you.

ܡܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܡܬܟܢܫܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܘ ܐܝܟ ܕܙܕܩ ܠܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܐܟܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܫܬܝܢ
m' hkyl dmthknshyn 'nthwn lw 'yk dzdq lywmh dmrn 'klyn 'nthwn wshthyn
When therefore you assemble yourselves together, it is not the Lord’s supper that you eat.

ܐܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܐܢܫ ܚܫܡܝܬܗ ܩܕܡ ܐܟܠ ܠܗ ܘܗܘܐ ܚܕ ܟܦܢ ܘܚܕ ܪܘܐ
'l' 'nsh 'nsh khshmythh qdm 'kl lh whw' khd kpn wkhd rw'
For in your eating each one takes his own supper first. One is hungry, and another is drunken.

ܕܠܡܐ ܒܬܐ ܠܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܐܟܠܘܢ ܘܬܫܬܘܢ ܐܘ ܒܥܕܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܣܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܡܒܗܬܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܫܒܚܟܘܢ ܒܗܕܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܒܚ ܐܢܐ
dlm' bth' lyth lkwn dth'klwn wthshthwn 'w bedthh d'lh' bsyn 'nthwn wmbhthyn 'nthwn l'ylyn dlyth lhwn mn' 'mr lkwn 'shbkhkwn bhd' l' mshbkh 'n'
What, don’t you have houses to eat and to drink in? Or do you despise God’s assembly, and put them to shame who don’t have enough? What shall I tell you? Shall I praise you? In this I don’t praise you.

ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܩܒܠܬ ܡܢ ܡܪܢ ܗܘ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܫܠܡܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܗܘ ܠܠܝܐ ܕܡܫܬܠܡ ܗܘܐ ܢܣܒ ܗܘܐ ܠܚܡܐ
'n' gyr qblth mn mrn hw mdm d'shlmth lkwn dmrn yshwe bhw lly' dmshthlm hw' nsb hw' lkhm'
For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread.

ܘܒܪܟ ܘܩܨܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܣܒܘ ܐܟܘܠܘ ܗܢܘ ܦܓܪܝ ܕܥܠ ܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܡܬܩܨܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܠܕܘܟܪܢܝ
wbrk wqts' w'mr sbw 'kwlw hnw pgry del 'pykwn mthqts' hkn' hwythwn ebdyn ldwkrny
When he had given thanks, he broke it, and said,
“Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܐܚܫܡܘ ܐܦ ܟܣܐ ܝܗܒ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܢܐ ܟܣܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܒܕܡܝ ܗܟܢܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܟܠ ܐܡܬܝ ܕܫܬܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܕܘܟܪܢܝ

In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me.”

ܟܠ ܐܡܬܝ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܟܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܫܬܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܟܣܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܘܬܗ ܗܘ ܕܡܪܢ ܡܥܗܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܡܐܬܝܬܗ
kl 'mthy gyr d'klyn 'nthwn lkhm' hn' wshthyn 'nthwn ks' hn' mwthh hw dmrn mehdyn 'nthwn edm' lm'thythh
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

ܐܝܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܐܟܠ ܡܢ ܠܚܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܟܣܗ ܘܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܠܗ ܡܚܝܒ ܗܘ ܠܕܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܦܓܪܗ
'yn' hkyl d'kl mn lkhmh dmry' wshth' mn ksh wl' shw' lh mkhyb hw ldmh dmry' wlpgrh
Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord’s cup in a way unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܐܢܫ ܒܩܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܟܠ ܡܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܟܣܐ ܗܢܐ
mTl hn' nhw' 'nsh bq' npshh whydyn 'kl mn lkhm' hn' wshth' mn ks' hn'
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.

ܡܢ ܕܐܟܠ ܓܝܪ ܘܫܬܐ ܡܢܗ ܟܕ ܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܚܘܝܒܐ ܗܘ ܠܢܦܫܗ ܐܟܠ ܘܫܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܦܪܫ ܦܓܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
mn d'kl gyr wshth' mnh kd l' shw' khwyb' hw lnpshh 'kl wshth' dl' prsh pgrh dmry'
For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn’t discern the Lord’s body.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܣܓܝܐܝܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܡܪܥܐ ܘܟܪܝܗܐ ܘܣܓܝܐܐ ܕܕܡܟܝܢ
mTl hn' sgy'yn bkwn mre' wkryh' wsgy'' ddmkyn
For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.

ܐܠܘ ܓܝܪ ܢܦܫܢ ܕܝܢܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܠܐ ܡܬܕܝܢܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ
'lw gyr npshn dynyn hwyn l' mthdynyn hwyn
For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn’t be judged.

ܟܕ ܡܬܕܝܢܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܡܪܢ ܡܬܪܕܝܘ ܡܬܪܕܝܢܢ ܕܠܐ ܥܡ ܥܠܡܐ ܢܬܚܝܒ
kd mthdynynn dyn mn mrn mthrdyw mthrdynn dl' em elm' nthkhyb
But when we are judged, we are punished by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

ܡܟܝܠ ܐܚܝ ܐܡܬܝ ܕܡܬܟܢܫܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܡܐܟܠ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܩܘܝܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ
mkyl 'khy 'mthy dmthknshyn 'nthwn lm'kl hwythwn mqwyn khd lkhd
Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.

ܡܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܟܦܢ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܢܠܥܣ ܕܠܐ ܠܚܝܒܘܬܐ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܡܬܟܢܫܝܢ ܥܠ ܫܪܟܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܐ ܕܐܬܝܬ ܐܦܩܕܟܘܢ
mn dyn dkpn bbythh nles dl' lkhybwth' thhwwn mthknshyn el shrk' dyn m' d'thyth 'pqdkwn
But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest your coming together be for judgment. The rest I will set in order whenever I come.
